The Kraft box says….Smmmile, It’s the Cheesiest!
There is not much to smile about when I tell you what they are NOT telling you.
The two harmful ingredients they want you to look right past are:
- Made from genetically modified wheat.
- Cheese sauce mix.
GMO foods are sprayed with glyphosate. Glyphosate cannot be washed off. It permeates the entire plant. Glyphosate is most harmful in low, long-term exposures. Glyphosate is the active ingredient in Roundup pesticide and is an antibiotic which disrupts your good gut bacteria which contributes to chronic illness and disease.
Dairy in the cheese sauce mix is from cows that are fed GMO corn and soy instead of grass and hay that they are meant to eat.
Most cow’s milk today comes from cows who spend their life at a CAFO which stands for concentrated animal feeding operations. They are packed in a small area, pumped up with hormones to produce more milk or beef, and then get infections and are given antibiotics. All these chemicals pass through the milk into our bodies, which is why we are seeing so many gut and hormone issues today.
Here is something you may not know about a cow’s digestive tract:
Cows love to chew on their cud and chewing it is a sign of healthy cows. When cattle consume grasses or hay, it enters the rumen, and the digestion process begins.
When cows are fed high levels of grain, it decreases the rumen pH and changes the balance of rumen microbes to those that are more efficient at digesting carbohydrates.
Also, when the saliva is swallowed, it acts as a buffer and keeps the rumen pH from becoming too acidic.
If cattle don’t get enough long-stem fiber, cud-chewing is reduced which leads to digestive disorders.
The bottom line is that the rumen is a cow’s best friend and sadly, most miss out.
These two ingredients, modern wheat, and dairy are a plague to your health.
They cause imbalanced blood sugar and excess mucous in the body.
Now is the time to take charge of your health and vote with your wallet.

You can use any macaroni and cheese recipe and simply upgrade the ingredients. How?
- Use brown rice noodles (I love Tinkyada brand)
- Use almond milk or organic milk
- Use organic cheddar cheese (preferably raw or aged)
- Use organic butter or Ghee
- Use almond, coconut, or Einkorn whole wheat flour
You can also make a creative version using spaghetti squash or cauliflower.
I also recommend reducing the amount of cheese in any recipe you choose.
Making this favorite food at home with real food ingredients will give you and your whole family something to SMILE about!
